2 - Disneyland Introduction - Jack Wagner  09:15   Welcoming us to the Happiest Place on Earth is the familiar voice of Jack Wagner. Known by many as the, "Voice of Disneyland," Wagner's recorded announcements and safety spiels can be heard virtually everywhere in the park, and today he will serve as our friendly and informative tour guide throughout this magical Audio journey.

3 - Disneyland Opening Day Dedication  00:59   On July 17th 1955, Disneyland opened its gates for the very first time. In a special grand opening ceremony held at the base of the flagpole in Town Square, Walt Disney first delivered these now famous words of dedication. These words were then placed on a bronze plaque which remains at the base of that flagpole to this very day.

4 - Where It All Began - Walt Disney  00:57   When Walt Disney was interviewed for CBC television in 1963, he was asked to describe where the idea of Disneyland originated. He replied that it all began when his daughters were young, sitting at a bench next to a merry-go-round while eating peanuts. This has since become one of the most oft quoted remarks ever made by the master showman.

5 - Griffith Park Carousel  43:56   The legendary carousel where Walt Disney took his daughters Sharon and Diane on Sunday outings still exists today, located at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. Its original Stinson model 87 Wurlitzer band organ is still in operation, affording one the fantastic opportunity to hear the actual music that inspired the dream called Disneyland.

6 - Disneyland - A Magical Musical Celebration  6:00:00   Disneyland has impacted popular culture on a global scale, including the unforgettable music from its world famous shows and attractions. Songs like "It's a Small World," In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Room, and "Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Pirate's Life for Me," are among the many special elements that set Disney parks on a level of unmatched entertainment excellence.

7 - Disneyland Theme  01:47   In 1954, Disney musical director Oliver Wallace composed a special instrumental theme just for Disneyland. Its purpose was to be utilized as underscore music whenever Walt Disney would showcase the Magic Kingdom to his weekly television audience. Special lyrics were also written for the theme and released as a Little Golden children's record.

8 - Your Trip to Disneyland on Records - Welcome to Disneyland  01:39   This rare recording was part of an unusual set of short playing cardboard picture discs positioned within an accordion booklet alongside a colorful souvenir map of the park. Released shortly after the 1955 opening of Disneyland, it provided children with a wistful tour of Disneyland, land by land, with Tinkerbell, Mickey, Donald and Goofy.

9 - Disneyland Song Parade  06:42   Disneyland Song Parade was a 1957 children's album produced by Golden Records. This musical tour of Disneyland was highlighted through many popular songs from Walt Disney's live-action and animated films. The format was divided into four segments that included an original theme song for each of Disneyland's four original lands.

10 - The Disneyland Symphony  24:08   From the beginning, music has played a vital role in the Disneyland experience. Over the years, many great composers have written beautiful music inspired by the magic of the Happiest Place on Earth. In 1956 Disneyland Records released an instrumental tour of entire park, with original orchestrations representing each of its themed land.

11 - Disneyland USA - A Musical Tour of the Magic Kingdom  41:31   In 1956, Walt Disney produced a comprehensive documentary, and travelogue, showcasing his all new park. This big budget featurette was presented nationally in theaters in full Technicolor and wide screen Cinemascope, and also included a lavish musical score composed by in-house Disney musical director Oliver Wallace.

12 - The Disneyland Sound  1:58:01   Whenever Walt Disney took television audiences to Disneyland, these images were accompanied by a series of original compositions which thematically complimented the many magical aspects of his park. Many of these instrumental themes would be used time and time again, becoming familiar to TV viewers as the sound of Disneyland.

13 - Take Me to Disneyland  02:40   This rare promotional recording from the early 1960's musically captures the public's love affair and immediate fascination with Disneyland, which became a true American icon of the mid 20th century, well illustrating the sense of fun and excitement that could be experienced during a Disneyland visit as it existed in its early days.

14 - It Can Only Happen at Disneyland  01:50   Many an advertising jingle has been written for Disneyland over the past six decades. This song, from an ad campaign launched in the early 1980's, was meant to illustrate the special magic that is unique to Disneyland. It was used for both TV commercials and in special promotional films meant to attract new Magic Kingdom Vacation Club members.

15 - Once Upon a Time in Anaheim  04:01   It is amazing to consider that only six decades ago the site where Disneyland now exists was little more than a rural orange grove, but through the ambition and imagination of master entertainer Walt Disney, the quiet little town of Anaheim would soon give rise to an amazing fantasy kingdom the likes of which the world had never seen before.

16 - Disneyland is Your Land  03:29   This tribute to the Happiest Place on Earth was originally used to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Disneyland. Not only was it the main theme for the anniversary parade, but it was also featured in a live musical stage show featuring the Kids of the Kingdom. Following the events of that year, the song remained a beloved anthem.

17 - If You Believe in Magic  04:31   Disneyland's year-long 50th anniversary festivities included the debut of a special new film called "Disneyland, The First 50 Magical Years." As guests entered the main theater of the Disneyland Opera House, they heard this nostalgia laden original song, which could also be heard as underscore throughout the 22-minute presentation.

18 - Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years - Musical Score  15:04   The memorable score from "Disneyland, The First 50 Magical Years" was written and arranged by legendary film composer John Debney. His upbeat and whimsical musical interludes perfectly captured the magical spirit of the Happiest Place on Earth while imparting a nod to the past with several mid twentieth century references.

- Disneyland in TV Land -   Walt Disney was the first major film producer in Hollywood to venture into the medium of television. He not only saw it as the perfect vehicle to promote his latest film projects, but he keenly understood its far reaching power to communicate to a wide American audience his new concept in family entertainment called Disneyland. - Disneyland at the Movies -   Though more common to see Disneyland on the small screen, through the years there have been many theatrical releases starring the Magic Kingdom, beginning with the 1956 short, "Disneyland USA," a full Technicolor and Cinemascope tour of the entire park. Another big movie moment came in 1963, when Walt permitted an outside studio unprecedented access to his park to film the motion picture,"40 Pounds of Trouble."

35 - Disneyland 10th Anniversary Banquet  13:24   On the occasion of Disneyland's 10th anniversary banquet, held at the Disneyland Hotel, Walt Disney was asked to say a few fitting remarks. Completely off the cuff, he famously informed his staff that if anyone was thinking of resting on their laurels, to... "Just forget it!" This was merely a beginning with much growth and major expansion yet to come.

36 - From Dream to Reality - Walt Disney  02:20   In this rare recording from the mid 1960's, Walt Disney explains how Disneyland evolved from a dream into a reality. He briefly describes the design and development of the Magic Kingdom and then how it has grown over time, highlighting many of the new attractions added to the park since Disneyland originally opened in 1955.

37 - Project Florida Prologue - Disneyland USA  05:09   It is undeniable that without Disneyland, there would never have been a Disney World. In 1966, only two months before Walt Disney's passing, he produced a short film to sell the public on his future plans for Florida. The first five minutes of this film explained why Disneyland was the "outstanding piece of urban design in the United States."

38 - Vintage Disneyland Radio Ads  04:23   In order to attract Southern California residents, Disneyland began running ads on local radio stations in the 1950's. Voice over artist Dick Wesson, the announcer of the Disney TV series for over three decades, would often record these commercials, as well as local talent such as singer Kay Bell, who was a regular park guest performer.

39 - Where the Santa Ana Fwy Meets Harbor Blvd  02:22   The success of Disneyland, in part, can be attributed to the 1950's expansion of the national highway system and the consequent rise of Southern California car culture. Disneyland's centralized location to one of the nation's largest metropolitan areas, and convenient proximity to the freeway, made it an important part of that cultural shift.

40 - Superstar Limo - Southern California Freeway Music  1:04:51   Appropriately located in a section of what was once Disneyland's 115 acre parking lot was a short lived attraction called Superstar Limo. This early Disney California Adventure dark ride was a celebration of Southern Californian pop culture, including the automobile boom of the 1950's and 60's, of which Disneyland played a central role.

41 - Disneyland Heliport  02:57   Helicopter service to and from LAX international airport and Disneyland was once provided by LA Airways. The landing pad was located outside the berm, adjacent to Tomorrowland, with a special side park entrance exclusively for helicopter passengers. The service moved to the Disneyland Hotel in 1960 then was retired in 1968.

42 - Disneyland-Alweg Monorail System  02:03   The Disneyland Monorail premiered in the summer of 1959. Less than two years later the highway in the sky was extended beyond the park berm to transport guests to and from the Disneyland Hotel as a showcase of its practicality as a true transportation system. To this day, the Monorail continues its daily trips over the streets of Anaheim.

43 - Mark III Disneyland-Alweg Monorail  02:43   Over the past 56 years there have been five generations of monorail trains to travel along the Disneyland beam ways. The original Mark I trains were replaced by much larger Mark II trains in 1961, when the line was extended to service the Disneyland Hotel. Then in 1969 the even larger five car Mark III monorail fleet premiered.

44 - Music to Ride Monorails By  38:02   The dramatic sight and sound of streamlined Monorail trains, gliding along a sleek overhead beamway across the Disneyland Resort, romantically transports us back to the future forward optimism of the mid 20th century. Here is a collection of musical impressions from this era when a big, bright, beautiful tomorrow was in clear view.

45 - Main Gate Ticket Booths - Original 1956 Announcement  02:19   When Disneyland first opened, general admission to the park was only $1.00 for adults and 50¢ for children. However, this did not include admission to any of the rides or attractions. Individual ride coupons had to be purchased separately, but for a better value, a book containing several coupons could be purchased at the main entrance.

46 - Ticket Booth Attraction Announcements  03:08   When Disneyland accepted individual ride coupons, it was necessary to advertise the park's many attractions to entice the redemption of an admission ticket. Not only were colorful posters located throughout the park, but for a short time the main gate ticket booths had pre-recorded announcements promoting the latest 'E' ticket adventures.

47 - The Disneyland Gazette  00:28   In the early years, Disneyland published its very own newspaper called the Disneyland Gazette. It was sold for 5¢ at both souvenir stands near the main gate, and by roving newsboys who appropriately cried out, "Extra! Extra! Read all about it!" The articles included official press releases, as well as attraction listings and visitor information.

48 - Holidayland  02:26   Holidayland is often referred to as the "lost" land of Disneyland. This 9-acre picnic and recreational facility for visiting civic groups and other organizations was open from 1957-1961, and was located just to the west of the main gate. It also included a playground, baseball field and a large circus tent for live shows and entertainment.

49 - Ken-L-Land Pet Motel  01:04   Originally sponsored by Ken-L-Ration pet food, since 1958 Disneyland has offered a full service kennel facility for pets that travel with their owners. Although the average guest is of the feline or canine persuasion, nearly every type of exotic animal imaginable has stayed here, from monkeys to snakes, large spiders, and even a wild cheetah.

50 - Kennel Club - Area Background Music  16:17   The Disneyland Kennel Club not only demonstrates Walt's love of animals, but also his devotion to providing the highest levels of guest service, being the first amenity of its kind provided in an outdoor amusement setting. Following the mantra of "music hath charms to soothe the savage beast," calming easy listening music is piped throughout the facility.

51 - Disneyland's Official Host - Mickey Mouse  02:06   Walt Disney once said, "I hope we never lose sight of one thing, that it was all started by a Mouse." After becoming an international star of both the big and small screen, Mickey took on the biggest role of his entire show business career as official host of Disneyland, welcoming guests to the Happiest Place on Earth every day for over five decades.

52 - Disneyland Landscaping Presentation - Jack Wagner  24:30   From its inception, Walt Disney knew that imaginative landscaping would be a vital element in the design of his fantasy kingdom. To this day it remains a horticulturalists dream come true, being one of the most beautifully landscaped acreages in the world. This 1972 presentation describes this essential element of the Disneyland experience.

53 - Disneyland Main Gate - Original Area Background Music  59:22   The original atmosphere music heard in Disneyland was mainly provided by live musicians throughout the park. Over time, Disneyland began to feature pre-recorded background music appropriate for its many themed areas. The music one would hear at the main entrance consisted of Disney standards and other childhood favorites.

54 - Ticket Book Facts - Jack Wagner Announcements  01:14   Prior to 1982, almost every Disneyland attraction required an individual ride coupon for admission. These attractions were each given a letter grade from A-E, and the highest level attractions required an 'E' ticket. It soon became a common figure of speech, even outside of Disneyland, to refer to any exciting experience as an 'E' ticket ride.

55 - Main Gate Ticket Booths - Rainy Day Announcements  01:14   There is always sunshine in the Happiest Place on Earth, even on the cloudiest of days. While storm clouds chase away the casual tourists in droves, the locals know that rainy days at the very best time to visit the park. Attendance levels are at a sheer minimum, while almost all the attractions are able to remain in full operation.

56 - Disneyland Closed Today - Main Gate Announcement  01:03   For decades Disneyland has been opened to guests 365 days a year. However, prior to the mid 1980's, the park would often be closed twice a week during the off season. Speakers located at the main entrance ticket booths played an announcement to advise visitors that the nearby Disneyland Hotel was open for their shopping convenience.

57 - Disneyland Hotel Tram  01:43   When Disneyland opened in 1955, the huge 150 acre parking lot was among the largest in the entire world. To help transport guests from their vehicle to the main gate, a free tram was provided. When the Disneyland Hotel opened shortly thereafter, express tram service to and from the hotel was provided for both lodgers and visiting day guests.

58 - Parking Lot Tram Loading Zone  03:26   Many regard the Disneyland parking lot tram as both the first and last ride of the day. Located near the park exit is a tram loading zone offering aid to guests with tired feet as they make the long trek back to their automobile following their full day of fun. For many years, the voice of Jack Wagner offered safety instructions on a repeating loop.

59 - Main Gate Storage Lockers - Area Background Music  1:20:02   To maintain its reputation as the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland continually sets the industry standard in customer service, offering special amenities for the comfort and convenience of its guests. Located at the main gate are self service, coin-operated storage lockers, which can be rented for a modest fee to help ease a heavy load.

60 - Main Gate Storage Locker Announcements  04:31   Guests from nearly every nation around the globe have made the pilgrimage to the Happiest Place on Earth. Many special services are offered to those guests who speak foreign languages. Recorded locker instructions at the main gate are provided in five different languages, English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese.

61 - Main Gate Newsstand  00:24   Eye-catching newsstands are conveniently located just beyond Disneyland's main gate turnstiles, adjacent to the main entrance portal. These one stop gift corners specialize in all manner of last minute sundries, collectable trinkets and souvenirs. This is also a great place to grab a free park guide map and entertainment schedule to help plan your day.

62 - Main Gate Newsstand - Souvenirs Medley  20:53   From novelty hats to flag pendants, limited edition pins, plush animals, postcards, pencil sets, autograph books, watches, ceramic figurines, picture frames, t-shirts, coffee mugs, tree ornaments, park maps and pictorial guidebooks, Disneyland souvenirs provide the opportunity to take home tangible memories from The Happiest Place on Earth.

63 - The Unlimited Passport  00:31   Over the years, Disneyland offered unlimited admission to attractions for special after hours events, but it wasn't until 1982 that the Unlimited Passport was offered 365 days a year. For a time, it was optional, with the ticketing system still available, but the new unlimited passport proved so popular that individual ride coupons were soon retired.

64 - Main Gate Ticket Booth Announcements  01:16   For years, as guests approached Disneyland's Main Entrance, Jack Wagner, "The Voice of Disneyland," was heard describing the park's admission media, hours of operation, guided tour options and other special announcements, resonating from loud speakers located at the many colorful ticket booths aligned in from the main entrance turnstiles.

- Kodak Super 8 Disneyland Home Movies -   Before home video, there were home movies. Beginning in 1974, Kodak offered Super 8mm souvenir films, sold at gift stands throughout the park. These were also available with recorded narrative and music for those with sound projectors. The eight minute travelogues highlighted Disneyland's many attractions and visual points of interest. New films would be released on a semi annual basis up until the early 1980's.

One way this is achieved is by showing a series of specially crafted film presentations, laden with nostalgia and designed to express the company's dedication to creating happiness.

73 - The Art of the Disney Theme Show  38:51   In addition to teaching newly hired Disneyland cast members their specific job role requirements, The Disney University also attempts to inform trainees of many other aspects of the Disney organization. This early 1980's training film provided an extensive overview of many themed design principals practiced by the WED Imagineers.

74 - Cast Member Orientation - Main Gate / Main Street USA  24:28   After newly hired cast members are fully inducted into the "Disney Way" of providing the highest quality in guest service, they are then assigned to their individual on-stage roles. Each area of the park requires unique training, and special knowledge. To facilitate this, multi-media presentations, narrated by Jack Wagner, provided a thorough orientation.

75 - In Search of Excellence - The Disney Cast  11:08   Every new employee at the Happiest Place on Earth must attend the Disney University. In a rigorous training program called "Traditions One" cast members are introduced to a unique philosophy known as the "Disney Way." Since 1955, the principles behind this proven business model have remained the key to Disney's theme park success.

76 - Meet the Disneyland Cast  01:05   Disneyland employees are always referred to as cast members, because it is their role to put on the show that is Disneyland. From custodian to ticket taker, the Disneyland cast is a truly admirable group of special individuals, for above all else, their goal is to bring happiness to the millions of Disneyland guests who visit the park each year.

77 - We Create Happiness - Cast Member Training  12:10   During Disney University's "Traditions One" cast member training program, a series of video presentations introduce the newly hired cast to the time tested and proven "Disney Way." Over the years, Disney's unique orientation methods have been closely studied by many outside organizations, becoming the gold standard among corporate America.

78 - From Imagination to Reality - A Tradition of Excellence  14:55   To give each newly hired cast member a well-rounded education in the Wonderful World of Disney, the students at Disney University not only view a number of routine training films, but also view a series of specially produced mini-documentaries that share the history, philosophies and traditions that made Disney such a unique organization.

79 - Team Disney Anaheim - Lobby Area Background Music  58:45   At the northernmost end of the Disney grounds stands a unique structure known as Team Disney Anaheim, home to many services such as new hire recruitment and cast member training. Inside its delightfully themed waiting areas, TV monitors broadcast a closed circuit program of cast member information set to a blending of familiar Disney tunes.

80 - And Now A Word From Our Sponsors  23:59   Disneyland has regularly promoted itself though TV ads. These commercials often tie into the latest attraction and entertainment offerings, limited time events and special prize give-aways, but equally as effective are ads that simply showcase the general nostalgia of Disneyland, and its special appeal to families over several generations.

81 - Who Comes to Disneyland?  01:16   Everyone from the Hollywood elite, to royal figures and heads of state have visited Disneyland, but the first guests to ever pass through the turnstiles were two middle class American children named Mike Schwartner and Christine Vess. Walt Disney personally escorted them through the gates and presented each with a lifetime Disneyland pass.

82 - The Gift-Giver Extraordinaire  27:42   For Disneyland's 30th anniversary celebration of 1985, the main gate turnstiles were transformed into a special tabulation machine known as the Gift-Giver Extraordinaire. Every 30th guest was awarded a prize, from a souvenir pin to a new car. The promotion proved so popular that it was extended for several years beyond the anniversary.

83 - Disney Dollars  01:39   Jack Lindquist was the advertising genius behind many of Disneyland's most successful publicity campaigns, but perhaps his greatest brainchild was the Disney Dollar, which first went into circulation in 1987. Disney Dollars had a currency exchange rate equal to one U.S. Dollar, and were redeemable at any Disney park or retail location worldwide.

84 - United Airlines - Disneyland In-Flight Music  1:01:40   Although most visitors live within driving distance of the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland is a major tourist destination for guests across the United States and around the world. Over the years, several major airlines have partnered with the Mouse to offer special vacation promotions, complete with Disney sponsored in-flight entertainment.

85 - Disneyland Fast Pass Announcements  00:39   In 1999, Disney parks introduced a new ride reservation system which allowed guests to avoid waiting in long lines at the most popular attractions. Special passes are issued at the entrances to several attractions, each with a predetermined return time, now freeing guests to enjoy the rest of the park while they await their turn.

- Disneyland Home Entertainment -   When the VCR became a common household device, a video was produced called, "A Day at Disneyland," which was not only available for purchase at Disneyland as a take home souvenir but was also available for home rental in video stores nationwide. A new version was released in 1991, available for purchase exclusively in the park. Another favorite home release was a 1990's sing-along video called "Disneyland Fun."

89 - Mark V Disneyland Monorail  02:52   Disneyland's fourth generation monorail fleet began daily operations in 1987. The new Mark V trains no longer exhibited the signature bubble dome look of earlier models. Instead, they more closely resembled the sleek, white, jet age style of the Walt Disney World Mark IV fleet, which had premiered at the Florida vacation kingdom in 1971.

90 - Mickey and Friends Tram  03:14   When guests first arrive at Disneyland, the anticipation mounts as they first park their car, and then board streamlined trams, transporting them from the parking lot areas to the Main Entrance Mall. After passing through the Downtown Disney shopping district, guests reach their final destination at the very gateway to the Magic Kingdom.

91 - Disneyland Main Gate - Area Background Music  1:00:16   Disneyland's original 1971 main gate loop was retired in 1992. That was also the year when the new Disneyland Resort in Paris opened, inspiring a whole new emphasis on area music. Along with the European park's premiere came a wealth of newly recorded in-park area music, much of which quickly migrated back to Disneyland USA.

92 - Disneyland Main Gate - Area Music Alternates  1:06:21   The air is filled with wonderful atmosphere music in every corner of every land in Disneyland. At the main gate, the stage is set with a blend of dramatically orchestrated interpretations of the many theme songs that will later be heard throughout the park. 93 - Mark VII Disneyland Monorail  03:29   By the time the current Mark IIV monorail fleet was put into operation, the Highway in the Sky had undergone major changes. The 115 acre parking lot was transformed into an all-new theme park, with trains traveling through the lobby of a new hotel, and the original hotel station was now located within the Downtown Disney shopping district.

94 - Disneyland Esplanade - Area Background Music  1:06:46   When Disney's California Adventure Theme Park opened next door to Disneyland in 2001, an all new loop of background music was created for the area which has become known as the Esplanade, a large brick covered courtyard separating the two parks. Appropriately, this loop contains a mixture of songs from each Anaheim park.

95 - Disneyland Esplanade - Area Music Alternates  1:19:37   As in film, background music is essential to setting the stage for the themed environs found in Disneyland. Among park regulars, these mood setting medleys have acquired many fans and followers. In tribute to one of the most popular of these, here is a mix of original and alternate versions of all the songs from the main gate Esplanade loop.

96 - Disney's California Adventure Preview Center  46:38   In 1999, ground was broken for Disney's California Adventure, built over the former Disneyland parking lot, originally located next to the main gate. As the excavation began, a temporary preview center was erected next to the construction zone. It included concept art, models and an outdoor lookout tower to watch the construction in progress.

97 - Saxophone Quartet - Good Morning Concert  04:33   As guests form a line at the main entrance turnstiles and wait for Disneyland to open its gates, a live band will often entertain the eager crowd. This honor is more often than not reserved for the world-famous Disneyland Band, but on off days, other small groups will take the helm. A popular stand-in group is Disneyland's famous Saxophone Quartet.

98 - The Dapper Dans - Good Morning Concert  05:30   The world famous a capella four-part harmony barbershop medley makers, the Dapper Dans, have been performing in Disneyland since 1959. They are usually found up and down Main Street USA, but on those days when the Disneyland Band is on a break, they will often take the helm, at the main entrance, as a good morning greeting committee.

99 - The Straw Hat Strutters - Main Gate Concert  12:12   The Straw Hat Strutters performed at Disneyland for over a decade. They were fashioned after an earlier Dixieland band of regular park performers called The Strawhatters, who performed from the 1950's through the 1970's. Like the Dapper Dans, and Sax Quartet, they would often perform at the park entrance in front the famous Mickey Mouse floral.

100 - Main Entrance Fanfare - The Disneyland Band  06:25   Assembled at the main entrance, in front of the iconic Mickey Mouse floral base of the Main Street train station, the world-famous Disneyland Band musically welcomes early morning guests with a medley of Disney favorites as they enter Disneyland. This talented assemblage will often make further appearances throughout the park, all day long.

101 - Main Entrance Turnstiles  01:14   The turnstiles at the main entrance to the Magic Kingdom are literally the gateway to this land of enchantment. As friendly ticket-takers insert Disneyland passports and other admission into a ticket slot, the magical sound of an electronic pixie bell or a friendly whistle let them know your ticket has been successfully redeemed.

102 - Entering Disneyland - The Main Gate Tunnel  02:29   Once through the turnstiles, guests enter the park by passing through one of two attraction poster lined tunnels located on either side of the famous Mickey Mouse floral under the Main Street Railroad station. The plaque above the tunnel entrance reads "Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy."

103 - Park Opening - Rope Drop Ceremony  02:52   On days when Main Street opens early, a rope is positioned at the end of the street. Here, guests slowly gather and anxiously wait for the rest of the park to open. When the magic hour arrives, Mickey appears to welcome everyone, dropping the rope as excited guests rush to be the first in line for their favorite Disneyland attractions.

104 - D23 Expo Welcome Center  02:49   D23, the first official Disney fan club, was formed in 2009. Later that year the first D23 Expo was held at the Disneyland adjacent Anaheim Convention Center, becoming a much anticipated bi-annual event in the years to follow. All aspects of the Walt Disney Company are celebrated at these conventions, welcoming diversified fans of all stripes.

105 - D23 Expo - 2017 Disney Parks and Resorts Presentation  16:02   Every D23 Expo includes a series of high production, full-scale presentations staged within a massive auditorium. Of these, the most highly anticipated is the Disney Parks presentation. To set the tone and add some needed stagecraft to the otherwise corporate discourse of these events, are musical opening acts filled with Disney nostalgia.

106 - Disneyland Esplanade - 2017 Area Background Music  1:21:47   The Disneyland main gate, known today as the Esplanade, has had four incarnations of area background music throughout the decades, beginning in the early 1970's. The most recent assortment of mood setting tunes went into use in mid 2017. This carefully selected program of recognizable anthems reflects the experiences found within the Disney parks.

107 - Disneyland Esplanade - Pixar Fest Area Music  1:12:21   In the summer of 2018 a new area music loop debuted in the Esplanade area as the Disneyland Resort celebrated the amazing world of Pixar animation with Pixar Fest, a special event held at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Both parks have ushered in all-new live entertainment offerings featuring beloved Pixar characters.

108 - Annual Passholder Days - Welcome Center  24:53   California locals often become annual passholders. For a yearly fee, guests are granted admittance into the Disney parks every day of the year, with the exception of certain peak season block out days. Extra perks also include special discounts, exclusive merchandise and exclusive in-park experiences including an annual event known as AP Days.

109 - Disneyland Explorer App  14:49   In 2012, Disney released a free mobile device application that allows you to virtually survey the "Happiest Place on Earth" in its entirety. The app includes colorful graphics set to music for each themed land, special attraction themed games and pop-up fun facts about nearly every major point of interest found throughout the Disneyland Resort.

110 - Genie+ Audio Tales  31:57   Audio Tales is a new feature of the Genie+ app, launched in 2022. App users are now able to listen to audio clips that share behind-the-scenes anecdotes and information about many themed lands and attractions found throughout the park. Audio Tales can also be found under the recommendations section of the free "Disney Genie" app.

111 - Disneyland Esplanade -100 Years of Wonder Area Music  1:18:34   In 2023, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Walt Disney Company, Disneyland joined in on the year-long celebration with colorful decorations and limited time magic spread throughout the entire park. In the main gate esplanade area, an all-new background music loop celebrated Disney's 100 years of magical, musical legacy.

112 - Disneyland Jukebox  1:35:07   Disneyland has been an integral part of American culture from the very day it opened, mentioned in literature, film, poetry and especially music. Many a tunesmith has been inspired by this very unique cultural phenomenon, so here are some of the very best popular songs recorded in musical tribute to the Happiest Place on Earth.

113 - Disneyland - Songs of Tribute  44:20   Disneyland has been the inspiration for many a musical tribute. Songs about the park are often produced and recorded outside the Disney organization, and later become official park anthems. Other songs are officially commissioned by Disney to promote special events, or used to enhance live musical productions presented within the park.
